When is the best time to perform Moon Messages Tarot?
It can be done at anytime but we recommend doing it close to the New Moon if you prefer the events to correlate to the layout of this spread.
It can performed on the Full Moon but we found that this took time that could be spent doing other Full Moon activities so we chose to do this on the New Moon so we can take the time to transcribe it and make the Moon Messages videos for YouTube.
Do I need a specific Tarot deck?
Not really. The most important thing is to stick to themes and imagery that is not going to cause conflicts. We stay away from overtly religious themes to keep Moon Club inclusive and to avoid bastardizing different cultures too much.
In terms of Oracle decks, we recommend to look at themes associated with Earthly bound and related things, such as animals, plants, people or crystals.
We are using the Cat Tarot by Megan Lynn Kott and Beasts of Albion Oracle deck by Miranda Gray. This works for us as the majority of the group have positive or neutral feelings when it comes to animals.
If you don't have a Tarot deck, you could consider Cartomancy, which uses simple playing cards. If you don't have an Oracle deck, you can just pull a fourth card from your Tarot deck.
Who should do the Tarot?
We suggest analysing the Tarot in pairs or small groups. It is a very simple spread so anyone can understand it.
Oracle Card
The Moon Messages Tarot is essentially a forecast of the influence of the upcoming Moon phases. It is not predicting the future since the Moon's path is predetermined.
Each of the 3 cards on the top row represents a period of time which correlates to a specific Moon phase. The Full Moon is at the top since it reveals much of the overarching Lunar implications for the month despite the Full Moon period itself only occurring during a single day.
The Oracle card is the grounding influence that will assist us in making the most of the influences from the Moon.
